About The Position

This full-time position on the Cup Line reports to the Department Supervisor and is an hourly, non-exempt role. The 1st Shift hours are Monday-Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with overtime required based on production needs. The pay rate is $17/hour. The role involves assisting the machine operator by coordinating production needs, providing break relief, and training and managing other packers on the line.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computers and the ability to input data into the computer.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the operator to see what products are running, set boxes, and setting up lines.
  • Manage packers on the line while also working the line.
  • Teach new packers.
  • Help other packagers complete shops for the day.
  • Perform and complete LUV label returns and teach new packers how to use the system.
  • Assist other packers with issues in Pallet Tracking.
  • Operate a pallet jack and train new employees on how to use it.
  • Know how to work the machine and run it when the operator is gone and/or to help rotate for breaks and lunches if needed.
