About The Position

Vitol BioMethane, LLC (VBM), part of the global Vitol group, is seeking an RNG Technician for Landfill Gas to Energy projects at designated plant locations throughout the country. This field-based operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and reliable operation and maintenance of renewable natural gas site assets, including the landfill gas collection and control system (GCCS), wellfield infrastructure, RNG processing plant, compression systems, and associated pipeline equipment. Technicians support all site assets, maximizing methane recovery, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring safe, uninterrupted production. The position involves operating and monitoring equipment, conducting landfill gas field monitoring and optimization, completing routine rounds, and supporting startup, shutdown, maintenance, repairs, and construction activities. The technician follows company, OSHA, EPA, and PHMSA requirements; participates in required permits and Lockout/Tagout procedures; documents operating, maintenance, and compliance information; and collaborates with fellow technicians, the Plant Manager, contractors, and support teams. The role is based at a designated plant, with potential rotation to other facilities, and requires availability for shift work, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations. Outdoor work may involve varying weather, methane and hydrogen sulfide exposure, uneven terrain, ladders, confined or elevated areas, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
