About The Position

UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is offering 13-week travel contracts for RNs at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital located in Penn Yan NY. This position is for the Med/Surg unit. The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The RN is accountable for patient family education to assist the patient and family in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort, and provide emotional support in a healing environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS Basic Coronary Care certifications
  • 1-year acute care experience required in Med/Surg.
  • Moderate Sedation Competency
  • Analytical skills to assess, prepare, implement and evaluate the outcomes of the plan of care of patients / families.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy
