About The Position
St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for their Pre/Post Endoscopy Unit at St. Peters Hospital. This position involves preparing patients for procedures, planning post-operative care, and assisting with various endoscopy procedures, including basic and advanced therapeutic interventions. The role also includes administering moderate sedation. Requirements
- A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
- Ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient care
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written
- MINIMUM of 1 year of RN Acute Surgical/Endo experience required
- BLS Required.
- ACLS required (Can be provided during orientation)
- Telemetry Training (Can be acquired during orientation)
Responsibilities
- Utilize assessment skills and knowledge base to prep patients for procedures.
- Plan patient care needed post-operatively, including spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs.
- Assist with basic Endoscopy procedures such as Colonoscopy and EGD’s.
- Assist with advanced therapeutic procedures for mass removal and swallowing disorders, and other interventions for common GI ailments.
- Administer moderate sedation.
- Provide on-call availability as scheduled.
