About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in a busy Orthopaedic practice. The role involves direct patient care for ambulatory Orthopaedic patients, including brace fitting, assisting with procedures, suture/staple removal, applying casts and splints, medication administration, and patient/staff education. The position also includes charge nurse duties. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and lead a team to ensure optimal patient care and throughput. A strong commitment to staff and patients is expected.

Requirements

NYS license
A minimum of three years of experience is required.
Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment.
Able to multitask.
Able to lead a team in providing optimal patient care and throughput.
Able to represent the strong commitment with staff and patients.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in ambulatory care and/or Orthopaedics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
Contribution to unit activities and support of the care delivery system at the unit level.
Support of peers in the delivery of patient care services.
Expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
Direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic pts.
Brace fitting.
Setting up and assisting with procedures.
Suture staple removal.
Applying a variety of casts and splints to patients.
Medication administration.
Patient and staff education.
Charge nurse duties.
