About The Position
The Registered Nurse promotes the physical and mental health of clients by applying the nursing process. As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the nurse helps residents assume responsibility for their own health and coordinates and monitors medical services in accordance with regulatory requirements and individual client needs. Nurses provide individualized care through ongoing monitoring, recording, and reporting of symptoms or changes in a client’s condition. Electronic medical records are used to support high-quality, safe client care. The Resource Recovery Center of Orange County provides treatment for people with alcohol and substance use disorders, using compassionate, encouraging, and evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- One year of nursing experience; new graduates may be considered.
- Computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Critical-thinking skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Time-management skills.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of nursing experience in a substance abuse setting; preferred but not required.
