About The Position

The RN will perform and supervise cardiac stress testing, with the majority of the testing focused on PET/CT scans in collaboration with providers and Nuclear Technologists. This role provides holistic, professional nursing care to cardiology patients under physician supervision and supports diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, including stress testing and EKGs. The RN will serve as a clinical leader and resource within the cardiology clinic setting, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with state nursing regulations and clinical standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active, unencumbered RN license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Strong knowledge of EKG interpretation, rhythm abnormalities, and cardiology procedures
  • Proficient in IV initiation, venipuncture, and medication administration
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development

  • Advanced cardiology/cardiovascular certification
  • Two years of critical care experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform and supervise cardiac stress testing, with the majority of the testing focused on PET/CT scans in collaboration with providers and Nuclear Technologists
  • Provide holistic, professional nursing care to cardiology patients under physician supervision
  • Support diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, including stress testing and EKGs
  • Serve as a clinical leader and resource within the cardiology clinic setting
  • Ensure safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with state nursing regulations and clinical standards
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient status, including vital signs, EKGs, and response to stress agents
  • Identify and respond to adverse patient reactions and initiate emergency measures when needed
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, dietary restrictions, and follow-up care
  • Accurately document all patient encounters, treadmill reports, and clinical findings in the EHR
  • Act as a liaison among patients, physicians, ancillary staff, and departments to promote coordinated care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and community outreach efforts
  • Uphold ethical decision-making, patient advocacy, and evidence-based cardiology practice
