About The Position

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and financial and human resources within the institution’s philosophy. The role is in the Cardiovascular Care Unit.

Requirements

Associate's degree and high school diploma or GED are listed under education.
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) credential from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 1 year.

Responsibilities

Perform responsibilities and duties required by the unit and specific to its scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care to support integration of information for the healthcare team.
Complete an initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care according to unit standards and patient and family needs.
Implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
Modify the plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
Promote patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
Offer constructive feedback to support peers’ professional development and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge.
Identify personal learning needs and take initiative to address them.
Fulfill departmental competency requirements and maintain hospital- and unit-based competencies.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
Conduct hourly rounds on patients.
Proactively seek opportunities to assist internal and external customers.
