About The Position

Aviata at Emerald Shores is seeking an RN Wound Care Nurse to join its patient- and family-focused community. The role supports the development of the Wound Care Program and a collaborative culture, and provides direct resident care involving wound assessment, treatment, and follow-up as ordered by physicians. The nurse works with the Wound Specialist Physician, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team to promote wound healing and support regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Wound Care and CPR certifications.
• At least one year of Wound Care experience.
• Current, unencumbered, active RN license in the state of practice.
• Current, unencumbered, active LPN license in the state of practice.
• Qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of Wound Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the Wound Specialist Physician and nursing staff.
• Participate in developing and achieving Wound Care Program objectives.
• Carry out staff development functions and provide educational programming.
• Assist with implementation of policies, procedures, and standards of practice, and monitor compliance with corporate and external regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address all aspects of care that promote wound healing.
• Provide direct resident care, including wound assessment, treatment, and follow-up as ordered by the physician.
• Assist in implementing an individualized treatment plan for each assigned resident.
• Maintain ongoing communication with physicians concerning resident care.
• Assist surveyors and inspectors to facilitate regulatory compliance, as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
• Develop and implement ideas and concepts to improve systems and processes and achieve superior results.
