About The Position

Logan Health Whitefish is looking for a PRN RN to be part of their Employee Health Team! This role oversees all health-related components of the employee, volunteer, student, and provider population, including new hire assessments, new employee health screenings, and workers' compensation coordination. It also supports work injury reporting and facilitation and may assist with health-related education and wellness programs for various community groups. This position is ideal for someone seeking a flexible PRN role, and no prior employee health experience is required.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN License or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical nursing experience required.
  • Current Driver’s License required.
  • Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).
  • Personal vehicles used for LH business: State law minimum liability coverage limits required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification and American Heart Association BLS Instructor's certification or must successfully obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community health nursing to include recognizing and treating medical disorders, problem solving and utilizing available resources in collaboration with other health and social service agencies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all health related components of the employee, volunteer, student and provider population including new hire assessments, new employee health screenings, workers compensation coordination.
  • Support work injury reporting and facilitation.
  • Assist with health related education and wellness programs for various community groups.
  • Coordinates community classes and outreach for needs in the community.
  • Acts as a liaison for community health issues.
  • Recommends health education and/or wellness programs for the community.
  • Develops and implements new programs to meet the health education and/or wellness needs of the community.
  • Supports the onboarding process by providing health screening services of federally mandated recommendations for TB, MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis B.
  • Administers required immunizations and/or tests.
  • Makes referrals to healthcare providers per protocol.
  • Confirms results of physical therapy assessment to determine eligibility for work/assignment per job descriptions and infection control requirements.
  • Provides accurate documentation and maintains Employee Health charts.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of employee, volunteer and student health records.
  • Retains documentation per OSHA, ADA, HIPAA and FMLA standards and LH policies and procedures.
  • Reviews employee incidents of work-related injuries and illnesses and performs appropriate follow-up.
  • Responsible for the completion of the OSHA 200 log of occupational injuries.
  • Posts reports as required by law and refers worker’s compensation cases to the workers comp carrier per department procedures.
  • Assists the Human Resources department with medical leave of absence and FMLA.
  • In collaboration with assigned leadership, develops and recommends Employee Health policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and reports employee health issues and trends to appropriate stakeholders and per department protocol.
  • Participates in the orientation of new employees to Employee Health policies and procedures.
  • Monitors budget reports and provides variance reports per department procedures.
  • Measures and evaluates departmental productivity and identifies opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Implements changes and monitors results by submitting timely reports to the performance improvement committee.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
