About The Position

Hospice of Havasu is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN Visit Nurse to provide on-call and routine end-of-life hospice services. This role is crucial in ensuring that nursing needs are met as identified in the patient’s assessments. The RN Visit Nurse will deliver comprehensive skilled nursing care within their scope of practice, adhering to established standards to maximize the comfort of terminally ill patients in their homes. This position may involve supervisory responsibilities and offers a friendly, supportive atmosphere with leadership support, autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to perform meaningful work.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited RN program
Current Arizona RN license or Multistate license
Current CPR Certification
One year varied clinical nursing experience; home health or hospice preferred
Knowledge of Hospice Philosophy of care; working knowledge of current hospice guidelines
Understanding of Patient’s Rights
Understanding of pathology, disease processes, pain, and symptom management
Knowledge and support of agency’s safety and OSHA policies
Understanding of HIPAA Privacy Standards and related agency policies
Demonstrated understanding and compliance with agency policies, including documentation, continuing education, work schedules, HR documents, State and Federal policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
Understanding of customer service principles
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and be auto insurable with minimum coverage of $100,000 bodily injury per person, $300,000 bodily injury per accident and $50,000 property damage
Must have reliable transportation for work in the community and surrounding areas.
Ability to travel within the agency’s service area of 1.5 hours distance to/from the home office.
Participate in and complete all continuing education activities as assigned in a timely manner.
Follow all State of Arizona laws for Mandatory Reporting.
Adhere to Hospice of Havasu’s Standards of Behavior.

Responsibilities

Provide on-call and routine end-of-life hospice services under the direction of the RN Case Manager.
Ensure nursing needs are met as identified in the patient’s initial, comprehensive, and updated assessments.
Provide comprehensive skilled nursing care within the scope of practice according to techniques and established standards.
Maximize the comfort of terminally ill patients in the home setting.
May carry supervisory responsibilities.
