About The Position

The Registered Nurse on the Vascular Access Team at Allegheny General Hospital provides vascular access services to patients across the hospital. The role is responsible and accountable for a designated patient population and provides care through the nursing process. The position is full-time, with 72 hours every two weeks and rotating weekends and holidays according to policy.

Allegheny General Hospital is located on Pittsburgh’s North Side and is a 550+ bed hospital. The team provides specialized nursing services to support timely and appropriate vascular access. Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure or current multistate licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Current CPR certification.
• At least two years of recent nursing experience.
• Proficiency with peripheral IV insertion.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Willingness to obtain certification within three years.
• Comply with applicable ethical and legal standards, company policies, HIPAA, and information-security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate clinical assessment and care-planning skills.
• Provide safe and effective care for the age population served in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Professionally direct and manage patient-care delivery activities performed by team members.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on the plan of care from admission through discharge.
• Assess the learning needs of patients and families and provide education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Provide vascular access services to patients across the hospital.
