About The Position

The Vascular Access RN is a preferred bachelor's prepared RN who demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients requiring difficult/advanced IV access. The Vascular Access RN places ultrasound guided PIV, PICC lines and extended dwell peripheral IV catheters. The Vascular Access Team monitors and maintains; troubleshoots, declots, and repositions these vascular access devices for all adult inpatient units. Additionally, the RN monitors quality metrics related to vascular access devices. As a Clinical Nurse with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. You'll be responsible for using the nursing process framework and incorporating patient-family-centered care principles to ensure the highest quality of care. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, you'll be a vital member of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or equivalent.
• B.S.N., or M.S.N, or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years, required. This is effective April 18, 2023.
• Graduates from non-accredited school of nursing programs must have at least one year of acute care experience or greater than 2 years of experience in a licensed health care role, such as an LPN or EMT role, etc., and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.

• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Critical Care, Emergency Care, Pre-Op and PACU, Radiology 180 Days required
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Endoscopy (exception: Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Taylor) Upon Hire required
• CRT-Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Care 1 Year required
• And CRT-Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) - ENA Emergency Nurses Association Emergency Care 1 Year required
• Or CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) - AHA American Heart Association Emergency Care 1 Year required
• CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association NICU, Family Birth Center, Mother Baby Care 180 Days required
• CRT-Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC National Certification Corporation Family Birth Center 1 Year
