About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. The Vascular Access Team specializes in PICC and Midline insertions as well as assists with difficult peripheral IV insertions and obtains difficult lab draws. As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. The Vascular Access Nurse is a highly specialized position. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families through a high level of care, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Through minimal insertion attempts, the Vascular Access nurse provides longer lasting access to minimize repeat venipunctures. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, with rotating weekend, holiday and hurricane requirements. It will also be required to rotate between locations (Martin North, Martin South and Tradition).

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
