About The Position

The RN - Vascular Access, Team Lead shall be responsible to provide leadership to the PICC team. The Team Lead will implement process changes to improve patient flow and ensure resources are being utilized appropriately. This individual will work with leaders of other departments to resolve issues related to operational flow. The Team Lead will ensure daily operations are coordinated efficiently. Additionally, this individual will manage and maintain staffing schedule to provide adequate coverage. The Team Lead shall assist with the recruitment process, and to mentor and evaluate current staff. This position may also perform duties as a Vascular Access Nurse, and to be responsible for the insertion of PICC lines for patients. The RN will serve as an expert clinician, role model, consultant, change agent, and facilitator. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience required.
  • Active RN licensure required.
  • BLS required.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance.
  • Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous vascular ultrasound experience preferred.
  • PICC certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire to role.
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, Chemo, TNCC, etc.) may be required depending upon area assigned.
