Delivers safe, therapeutic patient care through use of the nursing process. Provides complete & holistic patient assessments including focused assessments involving IV access, patient specific nursing treatments, and education for both the patient and family. Assesses the patient's need for placement of a vascular access device and determines the appropriate type of device to place, location to place the device, and safety of line placement. Acts as an expert in vascular access line placement to include peripheral lines, midline catheters, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters in the home setting, clinic setting, or as otherwise needed. Under the direction of Nursing Leadership, assists with trouble shooting vascular access issues and provides expert guidance to team members with the management of these devices. This role is ideal for Registered Nurses with infusion, critical care, and/or oncology experience who want to grow their skills in vascular access and infusion nursing.
