The Registered Nurse Unit Manager, RN is responsible for performing professional supervision, guidance, and direction to staff in both clinical and personnel issues on the Unit. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining nursing practice and standards consistent with the facility's philosophy. The Nurse Unit Manager also represents the Nursing Department to other departments and coordinates services. Key responsibilities include coordinating resident care according to State DOH regulations, providing support to residents and families, ensuring staff adherence to safety and infection control guidelines, and assisting in the daily operations of resident care. This involves overseeing tasks such as showers/baths, toileting, meals, medication administration, and activities. The role requires effective communication with the Interdisciplinary Team to meet resident and family needs, performing daily resident rounds, conducting assessments (Admission, Elopement, Pain, etc.), developing and documenting plans of care, and reporting findings to the Nursing Supervisor. The RN Unit Manager also prepares resident assignments for CNAs, monitors their performance, and ensures documentation is completed. They will orient new nursing personnel and perform other related duties as assigned.
