About The Position

The RN Unit Manager oversees nursing staff and daily operations within the assigned unit, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves managing staffing, supporting new staff orientation, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring adherence to company and healthcare regulations. The RN Unit Manager serves as a key resource for staff and residents, participates in budget management, and supports quality assurance and resident satisfaction efforts.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Maintain current CPR certification.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as an RN.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, regulatory guidelines for long-term care, and experience with staff supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to lift, turn, move and transport residents, and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Capacity to handle stressful situations and respond to emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
