About The Position
Cura of Willmar is a 78-bed skilled nursing community providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. The RN Unit Coordinator supports nursing staff, coordinates resident care, and helps ensure the assigned unit runs smoothly. The role combines hands-on resident care with leadership responsibilities, including providing guidance to staff, coordinating person-centered care, and supporting quality and regulatory compliance. The coordinator works with nursing leadership and the interdisciplinary team and communicates with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Enjoys working with residents and building meaningful relationships.
- Comfortable providing direction, coaching, and support to nursing staff.
- Able to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on nursing care.
- Dependable, compassionate, and committed to excellent resident care.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing.
- Previous leadership experience; leadership experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff on the assigned unit.
- Coordinate daily resident care to ensure safe, high-quality, person-centered services.
- Work with the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and interdisciplinary team.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, assessments, and changes in residents' conditions.
- Communicate with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support nursing staff with clinical questions, resident care needs, and daily responsibilities.
- Monitor documentation, care plans, and nursing practices to promote quality care and regulatory compliance.
- Educate, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
- Assist with direct resident care when needed.
