About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator to lead and inspire our Postpartum team. The RN Unit Coordinator will serve as a key clinical leader on the Mother Baby Unit, supporting both staff and patients while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. You will balance bedside nursing with leadership responsibilities—guiding workflow, mentoring peers, and helping ensure high-quality, compassionate care for every patient.

Requirements

BSN required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
Current RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state
Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership potential
A passion for mentoring, leading teams, and delivering excellent patient care

Responsibilities

Coordinating daily unit operations and nursing care delivery
Assisting with staff scheduling, onboarding, and mentoring
Serving as a clinical resource and problem-solver
Leading by example with patient advocacy and evidence-based care
Supporting continuous quality improvement and safety initiatives
