About The Position

Are you ready to join the leadership team as a RN Unit Coordinator for the Rehabilitation Nursing Department at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. This is a full-time position (36hrs) working Weekend Days from 7a-7p. The 9A unit is a 16-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in rehabilitation. Nurses on this unit gain skills in medical/surgical nursing, including physical assessments, IV therapy, central line care, pain management, proper skin and wound vac care, burn trauma care, medication administration, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team (physical, occupational, and speech therapists) to develop goals of care. The role involves encouraging and educating patients to self-manage and prepare them for a smooth transition to their home and community.

Requirements

18 months Acute Care nursing experience required.
BSN required.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department.
Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives.
Focuses on and simplifies workflow.
Contributes to the development of staff.
Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
