About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) Triage in an Endocrinology practice. The role involves managing patient care needs via telephone, demonstrating strong customer service, active listening, clinical assessment, education, and problem-solving skills. The Triage Nurse will address immediate and ongoing patient needs, focusing on acute and preventative interventions. Duties include phone triage, patient education, Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) placement and testing, insurance pre-authorization, referrals, and maintaining exam rooms. This is a growing Endocrinology practice.

Requirements

Current Illinois RN licensure
Current CPR for Healthcare Providers
Self-starter, able to handle periods of high stress
Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting/bending/reaching/climbing and repetitive use of hands
Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry/push up to 20 lbs.
Able to effectively communicate in English, both written & verbal
Flexible to scheduling changes including overtime, evening and Saturday rotation

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Prior work experience in a Endocrinology setting, highly preferred

Responsibilities

Patient care needs through the use of inbound and outbound telephone practice.
Assessing caller needs through active listening, clinical assessment, education and advanced problem-solving abilities.
Actively manage patient's immediate and ongoing needs with attention to acute and preventative intervention.
Phone triage.
Patient education.
Continuous Glucose Monitor placement and testing.
Insurance pre-authorization and referrals.
Clean and stock exam rooms.
