This role answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms. The RN will guide the patient to the appropriate level of care and schedule patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians. This position documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems and records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care. The role also maintains and develops triage protocols and ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time. The RN will answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department, and educate patients based on calls that come in.
