About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Solutions By Sanford team, focusing on Pulmonary care in Sioux Falls. The RN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. This includes collaborating with inter-professional colleagues, planning and evaluating care, and demonstrating competency within the full scope of nursing expertise. The role involves caring for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Responsibilities include planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions, all while functioning within the scope and standards of nursing practice.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • At least one year of experience.
  • At least six months of travel experience.
  • Live at least 60 miles from the location applied for.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
  • Collaborating with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
  • Demonstrating competency and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizing appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
  • Caring for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up as patients move along the continuum of care.
  • Planning and coordination of care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
  • Functioning within the scope and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure.
