About The Position

Scripps is a leading provider of trauma care in San Diego County, offering specialized care through its Level I Trauma Centers at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego and Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The Conrad Prebys Emergency and Trauma Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla is a Level I center verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and serves as a private teaching hospital for trauma medicine. It features a dedicated trauma floor with ICU, telemetry, and medical/surgical beds. The team collaborates across disciplines to provide comprehensive and compassionate care from injury to rehabilitation. Join Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Trauma Med/Surg Unit. This 22-bed unit operates with a 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and is a Model Care Unit known for its fast-paced and dynamic environment. As an RN, you will provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, and implementation of care, and evaluation of patient progress. You will be part of a team dedicated to restoring function, optimizing care, and respecting patient individuality. This is a 12-hour Full Time, Night Shift position.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of recent RN experience (6 months in Inpatient Setting such as Acute Care, LTAC, Acute Rehab or SNF)
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • One (1) year of recent RN experience in Acute Care or LTAC

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care of trauma med/surg and post-surgical med/surg patients.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Assessment, planning and implementing care.
  • Evaluate patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
  • Primary responsibility for the patients' care.
  • Create an environment focused on restoring function and optimizing care, while maintaining the respect, autonomy, and individuality of every patient.
