About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our amazing Progressive Care Unit that focuses on Renal Transplant, Urology, Peritoneal Dialysis, Pulmonary HTN, and more. Baylor Scott and White Medical Center is ranked #1 in the United States on the 2023 Fortune/PINC AI Top 100 Hospitals list. Additionally, it is recognized as a Magnet® designated hospital, signifying nursing excellence. The Temple Memorial campus is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin. It is one of eight nationally accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Centers in Texas. The unit, STC 3, is a 35-bed monitored hospital unit that cares for a unique population of patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics. Our diverse patient population includes complex urology patients, pulmonary hypertension patients, kidney and pancreas transplant patients, peritoneal dialysis patients, and radioactive implant cases. STC 3 is the only unit in the hospital that performs peritoneal dialysis and is the only floor equipped with lead-lined rooms to care for patients receiving radioactive therapies in the inpatient setting.

Requirements

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Active RN License
• Minimum of 6 Months of RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire or transfer
• Grad of an Accredited Program
• Specialized field of study should be nursing
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role

Responsibilities

• Peritoneal Dialysis management
• Epidural
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation
• Nephrostomy and Urostomy care
• Complex urinary catheter insertions and care
• Suprapubic catheter insertion and care
• Train in ultrasound guided IV insertion
