About The Position

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their CV Stepdown unit, offering a full-time night shift position. This role is part of a training program and requires a commitment to providing patient-centered care. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating nursing care, ensuring a holistic approach that considers physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and functional status. The position involves ongoing assessment and reassessment of patient needs, accurate documentation, maintaining adequate supplies, and operating equipment. The RN will also serve as an educator to peers, patients, and their families, contributing to service excellence and a healing environment. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a commitment to the organization's values.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
  • ACLS certification through American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
  • NIHSS training (can be obtained through various organizations and learning systems that offer courses from the American Heart Association).
  • At least 1 year in cardiac stepdown or progressive care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assume accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing “Patient Centered Care” for an assigned group of patients.
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care while providing a holistic view, which may include dimensions of physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and functional status.
  • Perform orderly collection of information to develop a comprehensive Standard of Care to meet identified patient care outcomes and evaluate effectiveness of a nursing plan of care.
  • Administer nursing care in accordance with established nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct initial assessments to provide a baseline for future comparisons to individualize care.
  • Perform ongoing assessment and reassessment to meet the patient’s changing needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, adequate supplies, and knowledge of equipment operation.
  • Act as an educator to peers, patients, and their families.
  • Support service excellence and a healing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
