This role involves assessing the physical, mental, and psychological status of patients, planning and supervising patient care within a surgical specialty, and collaborating with other disciplines to provide excellent patient service. The position also requires participation in educational programs and performance improvement activities to enhance technical skills and patient care. The RN will be responsible for continued learning and applying evidence-based best practices and AORN standards. This role operates and plans Perioperative patient care, including equipment, instrumentation, and information systems within the assigned surgical specialty. Collaboration with surgeons, staff, OR resource coordinator, anesthesia, and outside vendors is essential for safe and cost-effective surgical interventions. The position involves coordinating care with PAT, Day Surgery, and PACU for proactive patient planning, reviewing and updating preference cards, managing supply inventory, and reviewing procedures booked in advance. The RN will also coordinate with Staff Ed to mentor new Operating Room RNs and assist with inventory across various surgical specialties.
