The RN Team Leader Lc is responsible for strong problem-solving in complex situations, working within budget and productivity targets, and supporting staff selection, evaluation, orientation, continued education, competency evaluation, and scheduling based on patient acuity. This role partners with the Manager/Clinical Leader to ensure staff knowledge, skills, and behaviors align with unit goals. The position requires outstanding relationship-building skills, particularly with physicians, and a patient-focused approach with a commitment to high quality, safety, and customer service. The RN Team Leader Lc is accountable for achieving patient satisfaction targets and supporting process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change. Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements is necessary. Effective communication and persuasion skills, along with demonstrated ability in developing and mentoring staff, are essential. The role involves leading by example with professional behavior, personal and professional accountability, and a passion for nursing. Serving as a role model and coach for service standards and recovery, and participating in performance improvement activities are key duties. Critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, and appropriate escalation are required. Support for the professional nurse continuum and nursing clinical ladder (CARE) is also part of the role.
