About The Position

The working nurse team coordinator will provide oversight of operational activities within their department at the CGH Clinics and in coordination with all clinic staff within that department. This position works closely with the Clinic Administration to assure continuity of patient care and operational efficiencies.

Requirements

Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure required.
In-depth working knowledge of current concepts, principles and procedures used in patient care within clinic care setting.
Clear understanding and use of PCIS and EMR, keeping updated on changes and communicating them to staff.
BLS Required within 30 days of hire (ACLS required for Oral Surgery).
Demonstrates ability to document patient needs and assessments.
Demonstrates knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served in the physician office.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served.
Able to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric patient group.

Nice To Haves

Three years previous Medical Office experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments preferred.
Prior experience in drawing blood is preferred.
Basic computer knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform the job responsibilities of a Clinic RN in addition to the supervisory duties.
Facilitate staffing issues within the department, communicating needs to management as appropriate.
Responsible for updating missed punches, logging travel sheets and aids in monitoring overtime for nursing staff in the department.
Responsible for carrying out level 1 disciplinary notices.
Overseeing the operational activities of their department, including PAR levels of medical and office supplies.
Aid in candidate screening for new hires, identifying top candidates for job openings and passing them to the manager for selection.
Act as a resource for staff regarding policies and procedures to ensure departmental effectiveness.
Recognize and respond to unusual occurrences within the department, coordinating action under the direction of the manager.
Lead department huddles.
Oversee and provide standardized education for department staff with the assistance of the Clinical Educator.
Work closely with Clinic Administration, meeting with the manager weekly and attending monthly meetings.
Coordinate orientation of new employees in the department in collaboration with the Clinical Educator.
Review and make changes to the departmental checklist annually and as needed, in collaboration with Clinic Administration.
Ensure completion of the float’s department specific checklist.
Provide input/agenda for department meetings and record minutes, sending minutes to office staff.
Assist with onboarding of new providers, ordering supplies, assist with creating schedules and templates.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date providers out schedules.
Assist Clinic Administration with investigation and follow-up of NRC feedback.
Be familiar with pulling reports such as phone reports, missing charges and other reports that support clinic administration operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
