The Registered Nurse assesses human responses and plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. This role is within the Critical Care/Burn Unit at West Penn Hospital, a 14-bed unit caring for both Burn and wound patients, including pediatric to adult burn injuries. West Penn Hospital is the only burn center in Western Pennsylvania verified by the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons for both adult and pediatric care. The unit delivers high-quality, comprehensive patient care from injury through rehabilitation, serving a multi-state area with expertise in adult and pediatric burn treatment, outpatient services, advanced wound care, mental health counseling, and rehabilitation programs.
