The G52/G53/G54 Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients requiring acute perioperative management or experiencing complex post-operative complications. Our multidisciplinary team of highly skilled nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals works collaboratively to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The SICU serves a diverse surgical population, supporting patients through critical stages of recovery following major surgical procedures, and is dedicated to promoting optimal outcomes, patient safety, and continuous clinical excellence.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.
  • One-year of current acute care RN experience (will consider military RN experience)

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol
