About The Position

This 12-bed adult ICU specializes in the care of complex surgical patients, both planned and emergent. It also serves as an alternate unit for trauma, neurosurgery, and hospitalist patients. Nursing staff work closely with medical, surgical, and trauma intensivists to care for a varied patient population. The RN provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans while building clinical competency.

Requirements

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
None required.
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required with less than 1 year of experience.
AHA BLS-HCP required.
Must attend required Nurse Residency Program sessions.
Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within 1 year of hire and maintained.
Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
