About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, plans and implements patient and family education and is responsible for assessing the needs and initiating appropriate intervention for patients. This position requires on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly. Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies. The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families. Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities. Job tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, various chemicals and medications, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations.

Requirements

  • Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing
  • Two hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually

Nice To Haves

  • Full time, 0.9FTE day shift position with weekend and holiday requirements.
  • Must be available all day, Mon-Fri, during a one-week pre-training period for hospital onboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Collects Comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or the situation (Assessment)

  • Responsible to complete all department-specific education annually.
  • Complies with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines related to care for patients with hyper acute and acute stroke
  • Participates in two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stoke) education within one year of hire
  • Participates in one hour annually of cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
  • Responsible to complete all department-specific education annually.
