As an RN in Surgical Acute, you'll gain exposure to general surgical patients including bariatric, ortho, spinal, urology, medical, telemetry, and trauma. Continuous and manual bladder irrigation, suprapubic urinary catheters, nephrostomy drains, wound V.A.C. therapy, orthopedic braces, and Patient-Controlled Analgesia infusions. This is a high-functioning unit that boasts exceptionally high employee engagement and patients’ satisfaction scores.

Requirements

  • At least one year RN experience
  • Graduate from an accredited school for nursing
  • Current CA State RN license
  • American Heart Association BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of acute Med/Surg RN experience.
  • At least one year of Acute Long Term Care experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Bariatric Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Gain exposure to general surgical patients including bariatric, ortho, spinal, urology, medical, telemetry, and trauma.
  • Administer continuous and manual bladder irrigation.
  • Manage suprapubic urinary catheters.
  • Handle nephrostomy drains.
  • Utilize wound V.A.C. therapy.
  • Apply orthopedic braces.
  • Administer Patient-Controlled Analgesia infusions.
