As an RN in the Pediatric Operating Room, you will provide expert nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical and other invasive procedures. In this specialized role, you will apply advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to support patients with a wide range of pediatric conditions while collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, high-quality care in the operative setting. Our caregivers are specially trained and certified to meet the unique physical and emotional needs of pediatric patients and their families, providing compassionate, family-centered care throughout the surgical journey. Orientation is 6 months for anyone new to the OR setting - Mon-Fri 7a-3:30p with required call rotation. Shifts are assigned during orientation and will likely be 9a-5:30p.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • If performing moderate/procedural sedation must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Card (within 6 months of hire)
  • One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub and circulating functions.
  • Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
