About The Position

Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a 160-bed TOP RATED skilled nursing facility located in Putnam County, New York. We are seeking an RN Supervisor to organize, oversee, and supervise assigned unit activities and staff assignments. The role requires demonstrating clinical expertise consistent with established standards of Nursing Practice, identifying and responding appropriately to patient needs, monitoring and documenting vital signs, administering medications and treatments, and communicating with team members, residents, families, and medical staff. The RN Supervisor will also identify and follow disciplinary actions, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, perform RN assessments, and lead emergency situations. Accurate nursing reports, staffing sheets, and census rosters must be maintained.

Requirements

  • Current & good standing RN License in New York
  • Previous experience with geriatric/short term rehabilitation/Alzheimer’s patients is desirable
  • Progressive Nursing experience in a geriatric setting
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Dedicated to providing extraordinary, quality, compassionate care to each resident
  • Genuinely interested in helping ill, injured, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, & sometimes challenging residents
  • Have patience & willingness to assist any residents & co-workers
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, & organization skills
  • Able to work well under pressure, flexible, & will work harmoniously with all staff

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, oversees, & supervises assigned unit activities & staff assignments
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise which is consistent with the established standards of Nursing Practice
  • Identifies & responds, appropriately & timely, to patient needs
  • Monitors, observes, & documents vital signs, treatments administered, & patient responses
  • Administers medications & treatments as needed
  • Communicates and directs services ongoing or any plan/concerns/information to appropriate team members, resident, family, or medical staff as needed
  • Identifies & follows disciplinary action as stated in policy
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, physicians, & other vendors’/services
  • Performs RN assessment to resident’s post incidents or change in condition
  • Leads & directs emergency situations – (Fire alarm, Elopement, etc.)
  • Maintains accurate nursing report, staffing sheets, & census roster
