About The Position

This is a Full Time, Salaried, Night Shift position, benefit eligible, located at Scripps Memorial Encinitas. Recognized in the medium community hospitals category, Scripps Encinitas was the only hospital in Southern California to make the prestigious list of top 100 Hospitals in the US. This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K. Join our 38 bed - level III Emergency Department sits 2 blocks from one of Southern California's most beautiful beaches. It boasts a team atmosphere with a leadership team that has been here for several years. The unit is self-scheduling with flexibility. The right fit will be a team player who is eager to learn, has experience in a fast-paced ER, outgoing and not afraid to work hard.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license.
  • Two years applicable clinical experience in an adult Emergency Department as an RN
  • One year of recent experience in a leadership role (Including Charge).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS for Healthcare Provider.
  • Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
  • Graduate of an accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety
  • Working under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, the supervisor will share leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge.
  • Ensuring the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
