The RN Supervisor manages nursing/ATC's activities for multiple departments, provides clinical expertise in the nursing process, and coordinates care across all staffing levels. This role involves managing daily nursing activities and workflow of Patient Care Department(s) in conjunction with the orthopedic/sports medicine administrative team. The supervisor performs essential job functions of direct reports, coordinates activities of Patient Care Support staff in collaboration with the ATC Coordinator, and recommends and initiates various personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and promotions. They also make work assignments and review and edit the work of direct reports, ensuring staff members are adequately trained and competent. The position resolves work-related issues, participates in the development, planning, and monitoring of fiscal budgets, and assists in the development and review of department policies, procedures, standing orders, and competencies. Additionally, the RN Supervisor manages scheduling practices, serves as administrative approval for employee timecards, participates in supervisor rotation for daily safety calls, completes event reporting follow-up review, monitors work queues, and schedules orientation and coordination of training for new/existing staff. They also serve in the role of Orthopaedic Program Coordinator in collaboration with the Joint Accreditation Program Coordinator.
