About The Position

The Nurse Supervisor - Oncology Navigation Team oversees and/or teaches others specialized knowledge and skills necessary to perform techniques and routines in the area of specialty. This role provides operational management of daily patient care services, assesses, monitors, and evaluates systems for delivery of care, and assists in the development of patient care standards of practice and personnel performance. The supervisor designs, executes, and delivers an effective system of internal controls applicable and in compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. They facilitate teamwork through planned group processes such as workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, and supervise nursing staff and/or other non-licensed medical or office support personnel. This position may also provide direct patient care and perform other duties as assigned. This is a security-sensitive position and is subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • 5 years of general nursing experience
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas Upon Hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Hire
