About The Position

The Inpatient RN Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations and serves as the team lead within the Medical Surgical and Obstetrics Departments. The RN Supervisor would coordinate, assign and guide the work activities of other RN staff. The RNs Supervisor would maintain department scheduling and staffing, perform timekeeping duties, lead nursing practice oversight, and work alongside of nursing education to train and mentor new staff. The Inpatient RN Supervisor would also work as a leader in informatics that directly support patient care such as optimization of EPIC and Responder 5 as it relates to best practices for the nursing teams and patients. In addition to lead worker duties, the Inpatient RN Supervisor also works collaboratively as member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. Systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. Utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health. Establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. Delegates and supervises care. Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in department or in similar leadership roles
  • Previous hospital nursing experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or state approved school of nursing
  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license
  • Associates Degree required
  • BLS required prior to providing patient care

  • Previous Supervisory experience or training preferred
