This job acts as a supervisor and provider of care at the point of care to individuals and cohorts of patients within a unit. It involves evaluating nursing interventions by coordinating, delegating, and supervising care provided by a healthcare team of licensed nurses, registered nurses, and patient care technicians. The supervisor serves as a resource to staff for patient care assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing interventions, facilitating problem resolution through collaboration with unit leadership and other supervisory staff. In collaboration with immediate leaders and other supervisory staff, the role identifies staff strengths and weaknesses and evaluates staff performance for team members within their span of control.
