RN Study Coordinator BSN
About The Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking an RN Study Coordinator to be responsible for the coordination and delivery of nursing care, including direct patient care and research participant/family education in clinical and research settings. This role involves managing and participating in all phases of the research process, supporting professional nursing practice, and advocating for human subject rights. The position requires self-direction with guidance from staff physicians and/or principal investigators. Responsibilities include designing, organizing, and monitoring protocols; assisting with grant applications, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts; planning and participating in staff education; assessing research participants; investigating adverse events and abnormal laboratory results; and interacting with other departments to develop systems for coordinating study protocols in compliance with regulatory laws and institutional guidelines. The selection process may include an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's degree Nursing program.
- Current Arizona RN license, or license deemed acceptable by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
- Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to use critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the clinical and/or research settings.
Nice To Haves
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing with extensive knowledge of research study design, development, and disease process is preferred.
- Certification from an appropriate accredited certifying body (e.g. ACRP or SOCRA) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years previous RN experience in ambulatory and/or acute care settings preferred.
- Must be able to acquire knowledge and proficiency in data management, statistical methods, computer-related systems and hardware, and software configurations are preferred at onset, but must be acquired within two years of acceptance.
- Any additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Responsibilities

- Interacting with other departments to develop systems/procedures for coordinating phases of study protocols that comply with regulatory laws and institutional guidelines for study data collection, storage, retrieval, and participant medical tests and procedures.
