About The Position

The RN Staff member is responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The role provides patient care through therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and collaboration with other healthcare team members. The position also supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks, and Paramedic technicians. The schedule is 36 hours weekly, working 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Successfully completed a Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current Louisiana RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ALS and PALS certifications, which may be completed within six months of hire. Certifications must be through an ILCOR-provided course, such as Ochsner Health System, the American Heart Association, or the American Red Cross, and must include a manikin check-off.
• Must possess good physical health and be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
• Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds and work with a moderate level of noise.

Nice To Haves

• One year of acute Emergency Department experience.
