About The Position

Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center is seeking an RN Staff Nurse for its IMCU. Legacy’s nursing philosophy centers on patients and their families, with nurses serving as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers. Legacy Mount Hood is East County’s full-service hospital, providing services including advanced imaging, emergency care, surgery, intensive care, cancer care, and gastroenterology.

The nurse provides patient care in an assigned department or unit as part of the health care team, collaborating with and working under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The role follows the Registered Nurse’s applicable standards and scope of practice and completes the nursing process, from assessment and planning through implementation and evaluation of care.

Requirements

• Current applicable state Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
• One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
• Keyboard skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
• Education as required by licensure.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
• Additional clinical experience may be required depending on the department. Experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within an assigned department or unit.
• Participate as a member of the health care team, collaborating with and working under the direction of the clinical manager or designee.
• Adhere to applicable Registered Nurse standards and scope of practice.
• Perform all aspects of the nursing process: assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Follow Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer.
