RN Staff Nurse - NICU
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care in an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, cooperating with and working under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in accordance with Legacy Health System standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. This position is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. The NICU cares for critically ill and premature infants, including babies born up to 16 weeks early and infants up to 28 days old. Care is evidence-based and updated according to national and international best practices.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN license.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Education as required by licensure.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred; a BSN may be required for specific assignments. Experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
- Recent NICU experience is strongly preferred.
