RN Staff Nurse - NICU
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care within an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, working in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The role follows applicable Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice and Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. The nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care. This position is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel, a regional center for infant, child and adolescent care. The NICU provides evidence-based care for critically ill and premature infants, including babies born up to 16 weeks early and infants up to 28 days old. Patients include premature babies, multiples and very ill newborns.
Requirements
- Education as required by licensure.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum and duration.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
- Recent NICU experience is strongly preferred.
