About The Position

Join Our Med Surg ICU as a Registered Nurse (RN) at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center! Located in vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is known for its cutting-edge care and specialty programs, including cancer care, neurology, kidney transplantation, and more. As Oregon’s first ICU, Kern ICU is a 28-bed unit providing care to high-risk patients with conditions like respiratory failure, renal failure, and complex surgical needs. Recognized with three national awards for unit design, Kern ICU offers a supportive environment and specializes in renal transplants, cardiogenic shock, strokes, and organ procurement. Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN): You will provide top-notch patient care in a collaborative environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compassion. Work with interdisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans and make a lasting impact on patients' health.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
One year of ICU experience required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Nice To Haves

BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred.
If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
For certain roles, a BSN is required.
We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.

Responsibilities
