About The Position

This position supports the Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Clinic and Nuclear Medicine. The Cardiac Stress Test RN provides professional nursing support and service for patients, functioning with a high degree of knowledge, skill and experience in cardiovascular care that is applied to achieve optimal outcomes through critical analysis, problem solving and decision making. The primary role of the Cardiac Stress Test RN is to supervise the administration of cardiac stress testing. Cardiac Stress test includes Exercise ECG Testing, Stress Echocardiography and Stress Radionuclide Cardiac Imaging.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in Oregon and/or Washington.
  • ACLS through AHA.
  • BLS through AHA.
  • 3-5 years of expertise in the care of patients with cardiovascular disease required in one of the following areas: progressive care, critical care, emergency department, or cardiac cath lab.
  • Experience must demonstrate advanced knowledge of cardiac disease, the cardiovascular and pulmonary system as well as independent thinking, clinical judgement and ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred.
  • Specialty certification (CCRN, CEN, CMC, CSC, PCCN, CVRN) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the administration of cardiac stress testing, including Exercise ECG Testing, Stress Echocardiography and Stress Radionuclide Cardiac Imaging.
  • Provide professional nursing support and service for patients.
  • Apply a high degree of knowledge, skill, and experience in cardiovascular care to achieve optimal outcomes through critical analysis, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Demonstrate competent performance of exercise testing, requiring significant cognitive knowledge and understanding of cardiac disease states, including cardiovascular and exercise physiology, hemodynamic response to exercise, appropriate indications, alternate physiological cardiovascular tests, and prompt recognition and response to complications.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with health care team members across multiple disciplines and departments (i.e., nursing, rehab, pharmacy, imaging, ED, etc.).
  • Prioritize work and effectively manage time with minimal supervision.
