About The Position
This position promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department and regulatory standards. Duties include floating to the entire Outpatient Services area which encompasses Day surgery, Infusions, Endoscopy Lab and GI, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Pre-operative Clinic, and hospital needs of conscious sedation for special procedures. The role requires skills in nursing assessment, including peri-operative education and care, and recognizing post anesthesia and post-operative complications. It also involves facilitating discharge and transportation of patients to outlying nursing units or home. This is a full-time position that requires rotation in the on-call schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts and days of work will vary and be determined based on need.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing
- Current Washington State RN license
- Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR and PALS certification cards on hire
- Minimum two years of experience in a hospital or outpatient surgery clinic
- Excellent communication skills
- Competent in the use of computers
